
Next Orientation: February 9th, 2010
New postdoctoral fellows from all of Harvard's Schools and research units are invited and encouraged to attend an informal meeting and lunch to hear speakers from a wide range of Harvard resource offices who will provide information to enhance the postdoctoral experience and provide an introduction to life at Harvard.
Included in the program are speakers from the Institutional Office for Postdoctoral Affairs, the Office of Human Resources and Benefits, the Office of Sponsored Projects, the FAS Committee for the Use of Human Subjects, Environmental Health and Safety, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Center for Worklife Development, and the Harvard International Office.

The Harvard International Office (HIO) organizes a variety of orientation programs during the year called "Getting Started." From mid-August to mid-September, "Getting Started" sessions for newly arriving international students, scholars, and their families will be held two times per week to provide information about visa and tax regulations, cultural adjustment, local transportation, telephones, banking, postal services, health care, health insurance, Harvard resources, and programs for families.
In addition, the HIO offers sessions two times per month during term time that cover the same topics to help you get settled. Details will be available when you register with the HIO.
